Can eating too much fiber have negative effects on weight loss? I'm constantly exceeding my recommended amount and I've stopped losing weight.

Answer: We were not able to find any information to support this. In fact, fiber is generally beneficial due to its contribution to fullness. If you are not losing weight during any 2-3 week period, you are eating as many calories as you are burning.  If you’re using our online nutrition and fitness program, be sure to look at your new calorie allotment and the on-screen advice that keeps you on goal that appears whenever you update your weight and/or body fat measurements. Follow the advice and you will reach your goal.

Anytime you encounter a plateau for more than 2 weeks, simply move more, eat less or do a combination of the two and you will continue toward your weight loss goal.
